A long-time Anglican tradition is an event called the greening of the church. Since the Episcopal Church honors the season of Advent we wait to decorate the church for Christmas until the Sunday before Christmas This year the greening will be held Sunday, Dec 23th after the 10:30 service.

On that day our Altar Guild (our florists in residence,) provides us with everything we need, greens, flowers, poinsettia plants, etc. etc. to decorate the sanctuary. This is the time when we set up the Christmas tree, and the nativity set as well. It’s all done to the sound of Christmas carols and lots of laughter. Afterwards we adjourn to lunch, with Bourbon Meatballs, cookies, coffee, and warm cider add to the good cheer. Come join the fun and be amazed at how beautiful our sanctuary looks when we are done! Together, we cover theinside of the church until it smells like being in the middle of a forest. Lunch with Bourbon Meatballs, cookies, coffee, and warm cider adds to the good cheer. As always, you are encouraged to bring a dish or dessert.
